Safety

The North Idaho Football Conference believes in Safety First. Becoming certified in the USA Football Head's Up program ensures that all our coaches are meeting the needs of player safety.

ALL of our Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, as well as ANY person helping to instruct drills on the field are Heads-Up certified prior to the start of practices each season.

Concussions

We take concussions very seriously as the safety of our athletes is of utmost importance. If an athlete does get a concussion, they are placed into concussion protocol and will not be allowed to return to practice or games without a written release from their doctor.

Here are some links to information on spotting signs of concussion and general information.

Air Quality

The North Idaho Football Conference follows the same rules as the local high schools when air quality is impacted. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is monitored using the www.airnow.gov website.

  • If the AQI is above 150 at 4:00 pm PST on the day of the event (practice and/or games), ALL physical activity will be subject to mandatory cancellation. Each League President will make the determination and will communicate the cancelation out to coaches and parents.
  • In the case of canceled practice, teams are NOT permitted to rent or utilize indoor practice facilities for any sort of physical activity. However, teams are still able to host team-bonding activities like pizza parties, chalk talk, etc.
  • Contact your head coach for details.
